1. The Classic: Game of Thrones
Let's start with a classic: Game of Thrones. Hardly any other series has been as much the talk of the town in the last decade as Game of Thrones. Based on the series of the fantasy novels "A Song of Ice and Fire", Game of Thrones is set in a fictional world on the two continents of Westeros and Essos. Its focus mainly lies on the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, which strongly resemble medieval Europe. For this reason, a large part of the series was filmed exactly here. From Spain to Northern Ireland, Malta, Croatia and Iceland, the majority of the show was filmed at picturesque European locations. However, one particular location stands out and is popular among many Game of Thrones fans: Dubrovnik.

2. The Cult Series: Friends
There is hardly anyone who does not know them: Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler and Joey from the cult series Friends. The series was filmed from 1994 to 2004 and has been one of the most popular sitcoms worldwide ever since. For years, series fans were able to follow the everyday life, relationships, problems and growth of the six friends, which were captured in a charming, emotional and at the same time funny way. Today, millions of fans still stream the series and can even look forward to further episodes in 2021. According to the script, the series is set in New York and even though most of the scenes were filmed in the Warner Brothers Studios in California, there are several buildings and spots that can just be found in New York.
For instance, the Lucille Lortel Theatre on Christopher Street, where Joey works as an actor, the Moondance Diner at 80 Six Avenue, where Monica works as a waitress, or the American Museum of Natural History at the Central Park, where Ross works as a palaeontologist. 3. The Crime Series: Babylon Berlin
Our next series is less funny, but rather exciting: Babylon Berlin. As the name already indicates, the German capital Berlin is the hub of the gripping crime series. Since 2017, the series has captivated numerous fans and is considered to be the most expensive TV production in Germany until now. Set in Berlin around 1929, a young inspector is tasked with solving a criminal case of the Berlin mafia, which ultimately turns out to be quite difficult. Along the way, viewers also get an idea of the political situation at the time and in particular the development of the Weimar Republic. So, if you are interested in history as well as in crime and the like, Babylon Berlin is just the thing for you.

4. The Drama Series: The Crown
Hardly any script could be written in a better way than the real life of the royals. Producer Peter Morgan, who was already responsible for the movie "The Queen" in 2006, thought so too. Since 2016, The Crown has been one of the most popular drama series worldwide and focuses on the life of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II. Each season focuses on another decade in the life of the Queen and also deals with political events. To this day, the series is considered to be the most expensive production of the online streaming service Netflix - and rightly so. The success is great, the effort definitely pays off. 5. The Thriller Series: Money Heist
And finally, a little suspense and action. This series also enjoys cult status, has a huge fan base and definitely has addictive potential: Money Heist. In a nutshell, the first two seasons are about a robbery with hostage-taking at the Royal Mint of Spain and the third and fourth seasons are about a robbery at the Bank of Spain. The locations vary from France, Italy, Thailand and the Philippines to Panama. The primary hub, however, is the Spanish capital Madrid. Here, you will find the exterior façade of the Royal Mint of Spain, the Professor's workplace or the scrapyard of Season 1, for instance.
