65 days filled with music, opera and dance on the big screen: that's the summer film festival on Vienna's Rathausplatz. Every day top productions from all over the world await you, which you can watch under the open sky with free admission. Various food trucks with international snacks and meals will ensure your physical well-being.

2. Summerstage in Vienna

The Summerstage at the Danube Canal in Vienna feels like the largest terrace in the country. Here you can end the day with a cool drink or two and culinary delights. Sometimes there is even live music! The view of the Danube Canal from the Summerstage is also unique and makes the place not only a cosy one, but also a cool one.

The most beautiful outdoor pool in Vienna is certainly the Krapfenwaldbad in the 19th district. While refreshing yourself in the pool, you can enjoy one of the best views over the city. Absolutely worth seeing!

7. Vienna's wine taverns in Grinzing

If you're already in the 19th district (Grinzing), you shouldn't leave out the wine taverns. The so-called "Heurige" in Grinzing, in which only Viennese wines are served, offer a pleasant contrast to the hectic pace of the city. Let yourself be pampered with regional delicacies in the cool courtyards and terraces. Among the most beautiful Heurigen in this part of the 19th district of Vienna are the Heuriger Maly, Buschenschank Andreas Wagner and Heuriger Zum Berger.

Ausg’steckt is! If the Heurige is open, it can be identified by a bunch of pine branches at the front gate and by the word or sentence "ausg'steckt (is)". Ausg'steckt means hung up and refers to the hung up pine branches.

8. Vienna Major on the Danube Island in Vienna

There is a lot of bumping and setting as well as an exuberant atmosphere - this is probably the best way to sum up the beach volleyball event "Vienna Major". For some years now, the Donauinsel in Vienna has been transformed into a hot spot for the international beach volleyball scene in midsummer. One thing is for certain: Goosebumps are the order of the day here! On these days, the best beach volleyball players of the world compete against each other and thrill their fans with exciting matches. Thousands of people get carried away year after year and the atmosphere is always peaceful but also heated.

9. Stand-up paddling on the Old Danube in Vienna

The trend sport SUP has also arrived in Vienna! An absolute insider tip for hot summer days. You can paddle through the water in a relaxed way and if you feel too hot, just let yourself fall into the cool water. The most beautiful locations are in the open air swimming pool Gänsehäufel and at the Vienna City Beach Club.
