What are my Check-in options?
Business Reisen Geschäftsreisen Check In.jpg

Austrian Airlines: The days are long gone when you could only organise your seat and drop off your luggage at the Check-in desk at the airport. These days, you’ve got a wide range of different options open to you: you can check in quickly and easily using the Austrian App, with Web Check-in, or on the automatic Check-in machines at Vienna Airport. You can also print out your luggage tag yourself at home, and attach it to your suitcase at the airport. Alternatively, you can drop off your cases in Vienna city centre. At the Check-in Desk at Wien Mitte CAT Terminal, you can even do so the day before your departure.

What is the ‘Fast Lane’?

Austrian Airlines: Business Class passengers enjoy the privilege of the Fast Lane at many airports. Using a separate area at the security control, without long waiting times, guarantees your time at the airport is as pleasant as possible.

What lounges are there at Vienna Airport?
Austrian Business Lounge Flughafen Wien.jpg

Austrian Airlines: There are six Austrian Lounges at Vienna Airport, spread over more than 2,000 m² of floor space. You’ll find our lounges in the Star Alliance Terminal: three in the Schengen Area, and three in the Non-Schengen Area of Vienna Airport, with an HON Circle Lounge, a Senator/Star Gold Lounge and a Business Lounge in each section.

When designing the lounges, particular attention was paid to offering modern facilities with a very Austrian ambience. That’s why you’ll also find works of art by famous Austrian artists in our lounges. The areas let you enjoy the time before your departure: try some of the delicious cold and warm dishes offered by DO & CO, relax in one of the ‘quiet zones’, or get some valuable work done at one of our specially designed workspaces.

What benefits does membership of Premium Economy Class bring?
Premium Economy Class.jpg

Austrian Airlines: Our Premium Economy Class is available on our Boeing 767 and 777 aircraft types, on our long-haul flights to cities such as Cape Town, Beijing and New York. In Austrian Premium Economy Class, you can enjoy your flights on wide seats with a wide angle of inclination for an even more comfortable travel experience. If you want to spend your time on the aircraft working on your electronic devices, there’s nothing to stop you, since every seat is fitted with a socket and USB connection. As well as all that, you can take two items of luggage with you, each weighing 23 kg. To find out more online about these and the other benefits, check out Austrian Premium Economy Class.

What’s special about Austrian Business Class?

Austrian Airlines: You’ll find Business Class on all our flights – no matter how short or long those flights are. Members have a separate Check-in area available to them at the airport, they are allowed to take more carry-on luggage on board with them, and check in more luggage. Additionally, membership means you can relax before departure in Business Class Lounges, before quickly moving onto your aircraft via the Fast Lane at the security control.

On our long-haul flights, you continue to be pampered by our Flying Chefs, who put the all-important finishing touch to the delicious menus from DO & CO. And if you finally want to turn in, your seat can be transformed into a bed almost two metres long for you to get some well-earned shuteye. How does an upgrade work?
Businessreisen.jpg

Austrian Airlines: There is a range of different ways of getting an upgrade on flights. Examples of particularly quick and easy ways of doing this include at Web Check-in, on arrival at the airport itself, with air miles you have earned, or once on board. We also have make-us-an-offer upgrades: with this service, you just offer us what you think an upgrade is worth, and we’ll let you know 72 hours before your departure whether your offer has been accepted or not. If it is, you’ll be able to travel in Premium Economy Class or Business Class. Another way of getting an upgrade and enjoy the more comfortable seats farther forward in the cabin is our Fixed-Price Upgrade. You can check out this upgrade and book it for your flight by going to our online portal at austrian.com.

What are the benefits of the Austrian credit card?

What’s the fastest way of getting to Vienna Airport?
CAT City Airport Train Wien Anreise Flughafen.jpg

Austrian Airlines: The quickest, and definitely the most comfortable way of getting from Vienna city centre out to the airport is to take the City Airport Train – better known as CAT. This rail shuttle service whisks you from Wien Mitte station in central Vienna to the basement floor of the airport in just 16 minutes. From there, it’s just two quick floors up by lift, and you’re standing in Check-in, directly in front of security control. The trains depart twice an hour; for further details of the current schedule, click here.

Alternatively, you can use Vienna commuter train and ÖBB services connecting the capital to the airport; these depart from Bahnhof Meidling station and the Hauptbahnhof. There’s also a shuttle bus which serves perfectly-located city-centre stops at Westbahnhof, Hauptbahnhof, Donauzentrum and Schwedenplatz.
